dsparada has teamed up with Raleigh’s Polo Club

This year on Cinco de Mayo, that’s May 5th 2012, or Kentucky Derby Day, dsparada Color Salon will be sponsoring the Polo Club’s annual Steeplechase . This event is like no other as there will be 20-30 thousand people attending.

It doesn’t matter if you’ve never been near a horse, your day at Polo will be full of excitement and new memories. Polo is a fast game. Riders on their horses roar past you with lightning speed, manipulating the polo ball along the way to the goal. When players take a break, you’ll be invited onto the field to take photos and stomp the divots (beware the steamers!).  Then continue to cheer on your favorite team while you socialize and network with other businesses amid food and music.

Dsparada Color Salon will have their own tent where we will serve our guests lunch and chat it up with them. Its going to be a great experience and you can only get tickets through dsparada color salon!!!!

Male Gray Blending

As we ring in the new year……there are some great things happening in the world of male hair. First of all cuts are becoming more of a pampering experience then an in and out type of thing, also longer hair for men is back in style, men want to look clean cut but not as if they just got their hair cut. We are finding that more men like to go to an upscale hair salon rather than your local “chop shop”. (more…)

Combating Winter Hair Woes

Winter can be horrendous on the hair, from dry frizzy hair to dull looking color. There are many ways to combat these unwanted, untimely issues. With just a few tips you can transform your hair into absolute beauty.

Winter is the moisture season, and hair masks are the way to go. Putting a hair mask on once a week will make all the difference in the look and feel of your hair. A hair mask is a treatment in between your regular shampoo and regular conditioner. So, shampoo, rinse, hair mask, rinse, condition, then rinse. Putting your regular conditioner on top of the hair mask helps flood the hair with nutrients, while protecting the hair from the elements at the same time. Also use a leave in conditioner after towel drying the hair. This helps put a final seal on the hair shaft.

Color vibrancy is another issue we all face in the colder months, because of dryer air hair tends to look dull and lifeless. Getting a semi permanent color wash to add shine and luster is a great fix, it will have your color in tip top shape in 10 minutes. (more…)

We Know How To Party For a Great Cause…….

Thursday, October 27th, dsparada hosted the very first BNI Social Mixer.  BNI is a networking group we are members of, and stands for Business Networking International.  It is a group of local business owners who spend an hour and a half every Wednesday morning getting to know one another and educating each other about what it is that each one of us does.  Our chapter is called “The Morning Show”, and we are BY FAR, the best chapter in all of Wake County.

We decided to hold a mixer last Thursday evening and invite members from all chapters in Wake County to get to know one another and help raise moneey for an organization called Team Dykeman.  This organization is dedicated to helping families of fallen Marines.  We raised a nice chunk of change and had an amazing time doing it.  There was great food and drink, courtesy of Fork and Barrell on Falls of Neuse RD.  If you haven’t had the chance to get over there and check out their digs, we reccommend you go NOW!!!

…… this is a question people (women AND men) ask themselves on a regular basis.  A question not many know how to properly answer, or even go about answering.  Several factors fall into play when you begin your quest to find the right hair stylist for you, and more times than not, it turns into several bad decisioins before the right one is made…..  IF it’s ever made. Transition time…… You should KNOW that your hair is going to look AMAZING!

Yes Ladies (and Gentlemen too!), the time has come for that new fall look.  The first of October is right around the corner, and already we are having clients ask us to take them from their lighter summer colors to their richer, darker fall colors……

That’s a trend that has been extremely popular for years, but what we see a lot of are clients that try to be “cost-effective” and go to the store to buy their own color.  Well, yes, it’s way cheaper, we know that.  Unfortunately, what many people don’t know that there is much more involved it the process besides just putting  the dark color overtop of the light color.  (more…)

Bye Bye, Summer…….

Well, it’s that time of year again…..  school is back in session, Labor Day has passed, and we’re back in our regular schedules once more.  As we all get back into the swing of things, the effects of summer hair are long lasting, and hair  tends to be shoved to the bottom of the list with everything else going on.

Summer is great for so many things, but summer hair can be disasterous.  It dries out, gets brittle from the salty beach water, and color is totally faded.  As we move into the upcoming fall season, we are having guests throw their ideas at us for their fall look.   The trends are, as usual, leaning towards warmer, deeper tones of golds, coppers and mahoganies…..  However, unless treated properly, the transition from summer hair to fall hair can be not so cute.
